Senate President Lauds Akwa Ibom Leadership During Easter Visit
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has once again praised Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for fostering a climate of peace and inclusive leadership throughout the state.
During his Easter visit to the governor’s villa located in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit-Ubium Local Government Area, Akpabio commended Eno for his humility and dedication to promoting unity and development across Akwa Ibom.
The Senate President highlighted that Eno’s leadership embodies a strong sense of inclusiveness and purpose, which is vital for strengthening community ties among the populace. He expressed his satisfaction with the prevailing atmosphere of unity in the state, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration among leaders at both state and federal levels.
While acknowledging that his visit might seem unexpected, Akpabio emphasized its significance, advocating for more regular gestures of support to empathize with leaders like Eno, who have demonstrated impactful governance that has ushered in peace.
Akpabio also praised Eno’s humble approach to governance and expressed optimism about the state’s prospects under his leadership. He expressed confidence that divisive forces such as hatred, bigotry, and discord would gradually diminish.
He shared that he had previously represented Eno at the Apostolic Church conventions held at both the Ikot Ekpene and Ikono State Houses of Assembly, further illustrating their close relationship. He relayed heartfelt prayers and well wishes from members of the congregation, hoping that Eno’s desires for a successful second term would be fulfilled.
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, Akpabio noted that the Resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolizes triumph over hardship and expressed hope that Nigeria will navigate its current challenges, including insecurity and poverty.
In response, Eno expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting its thoughtful and symbolic nature, especially during the Easter season. He mentioned his frequent visits to Akpabio and noted that his gestures were signs of genuine goodwill and leadership, emphasizing a commitment to unity and mutual respect in Akwa Ibom.
Identifying Akpabio as his political mentor, Eno expressed gratitude for his ongoing support and promised to continue their cooperation and mutual prayers for the welfare of the state.
Accompanying the Senate President were Dr. Patrick Umo, Member of Parliament for Ikot Ekpene Federal Constituency, Ntyedo Usoro, Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Area, and Victor Antai, Executive Director for NDDC Projects, highlighting the collaborative spirit among state and federal representatives.
