introduction
For several years now, foreigners entering Nigeria have been required to apply for a visa on arrival before arriving, and once they have the necessary documents and are approved, they will be issued a visa.
On May 1, 2025, the Federal Ministry of Home Affairs and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) launched an e-visa application system and automatic entry/exit card platform under the New Visa Policy 2025. This new innovation has phased out the visa-on-arrival system and made the visa application process fully online.
What is Nigeria e-Visa?
This is a digital visa issued to eligible travelers entering Nigeria. Instead of applying directly to a Nigerian embassy or consulate, applicants can complete the process through the Nigerian Immigration website and receive an e-visa if approved.
