IYC Advocates for Continued Support of Tantita Security Services’ Efforts Against Oil Theft
The Ijau Youth Council (IYC) is voicing strong support for Tantita Security Services, urging all relevant parties to refrain from actions that might hinder the substantial progress achieved in combating oil theft and pipeline vandalism. The council stresses the necessity of safeguarding these advancements in pipeline security, emphasizing that the current efforts must not be undermined by disruptive influences.
In a recent press statement, spokesperson Vinevere Princewill cautioned against distractions that could detract from the positive outcomes resulting from Tantita’s intervention in the region. The council specifically highlighted the need for advocates of decentralization to redirect their focus towards initiatives that can foster further economic productivity in Nigeria.
Moreover, the IYC commended the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, for its commitment to resolving the pervasive issues of crude oil theft and pipeline destruction. The statement underscored that Tantita’s initiatives, guided by the leadership of Oweijide Ekpempolo, commonly known as Tompolo, have significantly enhanced both production levels and the overall security of oil and gas resources.
The council noted impressive reductions in oil theft, along with increased production rates, which have collectively bolstered confidence in the safety of oil and gas assets. These achievements, described as clear and measurable, highlight the effectiveness of Tantita’s monitoring efforts under Tompolo’s leadership.
Highlighting the favorable impact of the pipeline monitoring contract, the IYC pointed out that it has successfully engaged diverse stakeholders throughout the Niger Delta, building bridges across ethnic and community lines. This engagement has led to the creation of thousands of jobs for Niger Deltans, fostering peace and minimizing resistance in the region.
IYC elaborated on the unparalleled capabilities and extensive grassroots intelligence network of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited. The council reiterated that Tompolo’s oversight continues to represent a strategic advantage for the Federal Government. They issued a stern warning: any attempts to alter this agreement without careful consideration of its successes could result in potentially detrimental consequences.
In recognition of Tantita’s contributions not just to oil security, but also to peacebuilding and youth empowerment, the IYC is advocating for the expansion and institutionalization of the pipeline monitoring contract. The council expressed confidence in Tantita’s operational excellence and called for collaborative support from all stakeholders to ensure continued stability and economic progress in the Niger Delta.
The IYC reaffirmed its endorsement of Tompolo and Tantita Security Services, stressing the need for solidarity among Niger Delta leaders and regional stakeholders to foster sustainable growth and prosperity. The council further urged the federal government to safeguard the existing arrangements, resisting any urges to undermine the significant progress achieved in pipeline security.
