Reflecting on the historical bond between the two West African nations, Mahama remarked on the sibling-like connection between Ghana and Nigeria. He humorously noted that their occasional conflicts stem from debates over “jollof and soccer.” This analogy highlights the shared identity that transcends these minor disputes.
The Impact of Nigeria’s Stability on Ghana
Mahama emphasized the close ties between the two countries, indicating that many Ghanaians trace their ancestry to Nigerian roots, particularly within the Yoruba kingdom.
