Exciting Day of Racing Ahead
Tuesday promises an exhilarating lineup of horse racing with events scheduled at Bath, Hereford, and Lingfield, all set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing.
Galaxy Wonder Aims for Hat-Trick at Bath
The penultimate race at Bath features a competitive handicap over a mile and a quarter, attracting five contenders. Jockey Tony Carroll will be aboard Galaxy Wonder, who is in pursuit of a hat-trick following victories at Wolverhampton in March and Bath last month. The four-year-old will tackle this challenge with the momentum of a career high.
However, Galaxy Wonder faces tough competition from Dennis Coakley’s Party Island, who recently returned to grass racing and triumphed over the same distance under the steady hand of jockey George Bass. Another notable entry is Heather Mayne’s Prodigal Son, who scored a win with blinkers after a 140-day hiatus. Rossa Ryan is set to ride another contender that has shown promising ability this time around.
Warren Greatorex’s Premier returns to the flat after a winter spent over hurdles, vanishing from the scene since September. Richard Hughes’ Criminal will don cheekpieces for the first time as he aims for his initial career win, adding more intrigue to this five-horse race.
Lingfield Sees Ark Zusuv Pursuing Fourth Win
The opening race at Lingfield will see six participants go head-to-head in an Apprentice Handicap over two miles, with daily free tips available at attheraces.com. The spotlight is on Neil King’s five-year-old Ark Zusuv, who is looking to secure his fourth consecutive victory after recently achieving a hat-trick at Goodwood.
Jacques Curran will take to the reins for the first time, needing to rise to the occasion for a shot at maintaining this impressive form. Meanwhile, Jack Jones’ Anne Bradan Fisa, who hasn’t raced since November, aims to capitalize on his last win by a length on this distance, targeting a seventh career victory.
Additionally, The gray Troont has yet to find success in all-weather racing despite strong efforts, including a solid fourth place at Southwell. Jockey James Glennon returns to saddle this nine-year-old for his fifth start, alongside Mio Amico, Bulldog Spirit, and top-flight Pauling Day, rounding out this competitive field.
Always Happy Sets Sights on Continued Success
The second race of the day, the Virgin 519 Novice Stakes, features an interesting array of up to 12 horses competing at Lingfield over one mile. The unbeaten filly Always Happy, hailing from Coolmore, seeks to extend her winning streak following an impressive debut victory at Southwell in March. This three-year-old, trained by Roger Varian, previously raced in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing at 66/1 and will be expertly guided by jockey Ryan Moore in this outing.
Trainer Andrew Balding will debut newcomer Turret, purchased for €580,000 as a yearling. This promising three-year-old is a son of Kingman and descends from an unbeaten dam, who is a sibling to the noteworthy Hydrangea.
William Haggas’ York Tower has consistently shown potential, finishing second in both previous outings and is eager to translate that form into a win here. Another intriguing debutant is King and Queen Tropical Sands from Ed Walker’s stable, sired by renowned racehorse Too Darn Hot, who has a proven lineage of winners.
Notable Races Elsewhere
In addition to the featured races, several noteworthy events are set to take place across other venues. At 2:05 in Chantilly, Bucanero Fuerte’s half-brother Frankville seeks his first career victory in only his third attempt. Meanwhile, at 3:08 in Hereford, Del Potro hopes to score his fifth career win, with Sean Bowen enlisted to ride.
Also at Hereford, at 3:38, Hidden Fortune will be making his debut over the Skelton family hurdle, while at Bath at 3:50, Hibernate aims for back-to-back wins under the guidance of Ed Dunlop and Rossa Ryan.
Finally, later events at Lingfield include Buys the Dip and Stadias competing at 7:20, both looking to establish a winning streak, and Twilight Moon aiming for a hat-trick at 8:20, adding to the excitement of the day’s racing.
