Nigeria Boosts Local Defense Production with New Tactical Shotgun

Nigeria is making significant strides toward independence in defense production, as evidenced by the recent unveiling of an indigenous tactical shotgun platform by DICON Gray Insignia Ltd (DGI), a strategic partner of the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). This initiative aims to enhance national security efforts throughout the country.
The launch coincides with a surge in investments by various state governments in forest ranger initiatives, vigilante services, civil protection forces, and other community-based security organizations. These efforts are designed to supplement traditional security agencies in combating rising insecurity.
Bem Ibrahim Garba, the Managing Director and CEO of DGI, emphasized that the new platform was specifically created to address the challenges faced by security personnel operating in rural areas, forests, agricultural zones, and critical infrastructure corridors.
