Sowore Proposes AI and Drone Technology for Nigeria’s Governance
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress, has unveiled parts of his manifesto for the 2027 elections, emphasizing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in managing Nigeria’s financial system and drone technology to bolster national defense.
In a post shared on his verified X account, Sowore expressed his commitment to harnessing emerging technologies to combat corruption, enhance transparency, and modernize the governance framework if elected. He described AI as the potential “minister of finance,” while drone technology would take on the role of the “minister of defense.”
Sowore articulated his vision, stating, “In Sowore 2027, artificial intelligence will serve as the Minister of Finance, and drones will act as the Minister of Defense.” He believes that AI can mitigate human manipulation, waste, and corruption in financial management by making decisions based solely on data transparency.
Furthermore, Sowore emphasized the transformative impact of drones on national security, highlighting their capabilities in modern surveillance, rapid response, precision targeting, and accountability. He asserted that the future of governance hinges on technology rather than traditional patronage systems.
Expounding on his proposal, Sowore noted that blockchain technology in tandem with AI offers powerful tools to dismantle corruption within the public sector. He asserted that blockchain would establish a permanent and publicly accessible record of all government transactions, making it nearly impossible for records to be altered or erased behind closed doors.
“Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence are the most formidable weapons against corruption,” Sowore declared, adding that AI could continuously audit governmental operations in real-time to detect anomalies such as fraud, suspicious transactions, conflicts of interest, and procurement irregularities.
His administration’s strategy involves employing these technologies to render corruption “technically difficult, easily detected, and swiftly penalized.” By appointing AI as the “minister of finance,” Sowore envisions a government that minimizes bureaucratic overhead, eliminates unnecessary processes, and fosters a more efficient decision-making environment.
In conclusion, Sowore aims to create a governance model that is leaner, faster, and more transparent, ultimately improving the quality of life for Nigerians through technology-driven reforms. His ongoing campaign underscores the importance of digital transparency and institutional reform as foundational elements for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
