Empowering Women Through Personal Transformation in Lagos
In a bid to empower women to realize their full potential while rejecting societal constraints, executive branding consultant and beauty queen Princess Agunbiade has launched her book, Beauty, Brains and the Bag, in Lagos.
The Launch Celebrates Women’s Strength
The launch event, dubbed ‘The BBB Woman Experience’, coincided with the recent observance of International Women’s Day, making it particularly timely. During the event, Agunbiade addressed the societal pressures that often lead women to suppress their true selves to fit predefined molds.
Rejecting Limiting Choices
The author articulated that compelling women to limit their potential is detrimental. “There is nothing more harmful than asking a woman to relinquish half of who she could be,” she stated, underscoring the importance of embracing one’s full capabilities.
Embracing All Facets of Womanhood
Agunbiade shared her personal journey of rejecting the limiting choices presented to her. She asserted, “I chose to be beautiful, smart, and successful. It is a choice I made for myself.” Her message is clear: women do not have to settle for less; they can encompass all their strengths simultaneously.
A Guide to Authentic Living
She explained that her book is intended for women to embrace their beauty, intelligence, and ambition without the need to censor themselves. “We aim for women to be beautiful, successful, and smart,” she emphasized. “This book aims to eradicate the wrong choices imposed on women throughout their lives.”
A Roadmap to Empowerment
Agunbiade disclosed that it took her three years to produce this book, which she hopes serves as more than just a self-help guide. She envisions it as a transformative manual that teaches women how to reclaim their power and live authentically, without compromising their identities.
A Community of Ambitious Women
In sharing her experience, Agunbiade highlighted her commitment to mentoring ambitious women in developing their leadership qualities. However, she noted a recurring hesitation among them, as they often feel pressured to alter their self-presentation. Her mission is to equip women with the tools and support necessary to carve meaningful paths for themselves.
Spreading the Message Across Borders
In an ambitious outreach initiative, Agunbiade announced a book tour aimed at distributing 5,000 copies to women across six cities in three countries. She believes that placing this book into the hands of women is a revolutionary act. The BBB movement will leverage social media and campus visits to spread this empowering message.
Community Support and Recognition
Former Director-General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, Mrs. Omotayo Omotosho, commended Agunbiade for her dedication and urged attendees to support the BBB Woman movement. She emphasized the importance of adding value to this initiative, ensuring that the book reaches a global audience.
Women Standing Strong Together
Dr. Akin Akinpelu, Senior Pastor of Eden Center, remarked that the book’s release aligns with a broader movement of women striving for recognition and respect. Fashion designer Miriam Elisha echoed this sentiment, noting that the BBB initiative represents a bold generation of women prepared to assert themselves in all facets of life, not just in terms of beauty but also in intellect and financial acumen.
