Governor of Ekiti State Rewards African Spelling Bee Champion
Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has announced a prize package totaling N8 million for Oluwadamilola Adeolu, a 14-year-old from Ekiti, who recently triumphed in the African Spelling Bee Contest. The prize distribution comprises N2 million for Oluwadamilola, N1 million for her coach, Esther Omolayo, and N5 million for her school, St. Lawrence Metropolitan College.
International Sponsorship for World Championships
In addition to the monetary rewards, Governor Oyebanji pledged to sponsor Oluwadamilola, her mother, Oluwabunmi Adeolu, and her coach to the upcoming World Championships set to take place in China later this year. This initiative underlines the governor’s commitment to fostering educational excellence in the region.
