Cassava Technologies, a leading pan-African technology group, has unveiled Liquid G, an innovative Google Cloud distribution initiative that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance cloud solutions. This new offering, part of Liquid C2’s Cloudmania platform, is designed to facilitate easier access to cloud services while promoting accelerated cloud adoption among businesses and resellers throughout Africa.
Liquid G represents a significant expansion of Liquid C2’s long-standing collaboration with Google Cloud, aiming to enhance the availability of cutting-edge cloud technology on the continent. By addressing the unique needs of local businesses, Liquid G seeks to empower more African enterprises to capitalize on technological advancements.
According to Oswald Jumila, CEO of Liquid C2, the demand for cloud solutions in Africa is rapidly increasing. He emphasizes the necessity for resellers to have access to intelligent and flexible solutions, which can bolster productivity and foster growth in the digital economy. This initiative is intended to offer local businesses the tools needed to navigate and succeed in this evolving landscape.
Distinct Features of Liquid G
Unlike traditional distributors, Liquid G emphasizes AI-enabled support, streamlining business operations for resellers. It highlights essential offerings in Google Cloud infrastructure, AI, and data analytics—services that are increasingly sought after across the continent.
Furthermore, Liquid G simplifies the reseller experience by providing a unified marketplace for sourcing services and invoicing in local currencies. This approach minimizes complexity and fosters customer relationship building, allowing resellers to diversify their offerings with ease.
By leveraging AI across all phases—from onboarding to product discovery—Liquid C2 aims to deliver personalized experiences that meet the rapidly changing demands of digital businesses in Africa. This initiative reinforces their commitment to fostering innovation within the continent’s burgeoning tech landscape.
Simon Aldous, Google Cloud’s director of channel sales for the UK, Ireland, and sub-Saharan Africa, expressed enthusiasm for Liquid G, noting its role in expanding access to Google Cloud’s infrastructure and AI capabilities for businesses throughout Africa. This collaboration promises to foster innovation and support growth within the digital economy.
Strengthening the Liquid C2 and Google Cloud Partnership
The partnership between Liquid and Google Cloud has expanded over the years, particularly in AI and cloud technologies. In March 2024, Liquid C2 announced a collaboration with Google Cloud and AI firm Anthropic to deliver enhanced cloud and cybersecurity solutions alongside generative AI capabilities tailored for African businesses.
This alliance builds upon previous agreements, including a notable partnership announced in November 2023 during the Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town, which laid the groundwork for innovative AI services in the region. Google Cloud is actively seeking to partner with other companies to enhance the provision of AI-powered services across Africa.
Google Cloud’s Investment Initiatives in Africa
In a significant move to strengthen its foothold in the African market, Google Cloud opened its first African-based cloud region in Johannesburg, South Africa, in March 2025. This marks its entry into the competitive data center market, joining industry giants Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
The region became operational in January 2024, forming part of Google’s commitment to invest $1 billion initially announced in 2021 to facilitate Africa’s digital transformation. Recently, in September 2025, Google made further investments aimed at providing students with advanced AI tools, increasing support for educational initiatives, and expanding connectivity projects across the continent.
