Abraham Jimawo Seeks Etsako Federal Constituency Seat for 2027 Elections
Abraham Jimawo, the former Executive Director of the Edo State Rapid Response Agency, has taken his first formal step toward contesting the Etsako Federal Constituency seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Jimawo is seeking a ticket with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent his constituency in the House of Representatives.
The UK-based philanthropist, politician, and businessman made his presence felt at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, supported by friends, family, and political associates. His official announcement occurred on May 2, 2026, as he obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form necessary for his candidacy.
In a statement released by Comrade Kenneth Oshiogwemo, Chief Public Relations Officer of the Jimawo Project 2027 Organization, it was confirmed that the necessary documents were collected at the APC National Headquarters, consistent with the guidelines established by the National Working Committee for the upcoming elections.
Upon receiving his nomination forms, Jimawo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his supporters, party leaders, and the divine for their backing. He emphasized that this candidacy represents a pivotal moment in their mission to foster effective representation for the Etsako Federal Constituency.
During an exclusive interview with Sunday Punch, Jimawo underscored his commitment to adhering to party rules and encouraged fellow aspirants to prioritize issue-based campaigning. He stated that his goal in politics is to serve the community and ensure that the voice of the Etsako constituents is heard. He further called on his peers to articulate their plans and vision for the people.
Articulating his motivations for entering the race, Jimawo highlighted his extensive experience in the UK and his ambition to enhance governance at home. He believes that understanding effective representation is essential for the constituents and affirmed his dedication to fostering better governance, urging voters to make informed decisions.
Jimawo’s bid for the Etsako Federal Constituency seat has gained traction due in part to his commitment to grassroots development and active participation in party activities. Renowned for his philanthropic initiatives in health, education, and community safety, he has maintained a strong connection with his constituents, owing mainly to his frequent visits home. His prior experience as Chairman of the British-Irish Support Group during the Senator Monday Okpeboro Governorship Campaign and active involvement in APC mobilization efforts further bolster his candidacy.
Supporters of Jimawo assert that his campaign will advocate for legislative reforms aimed at delivering more responsive representation. His focus will likely include governance reforms, youth development initiatives, and the adoption of best practices to enhance public service delivery in Etsako Federal Constituency.
