Understanding the Illinois Accountability Commission
Between September and December 2025, federal agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and other federal entities conducted immigration raids in the Chicago area under the initiative “Operation Midway Blitz.” This operation faced strong opposition from state and local officials, businesses, community members, faith leaders, and the general public.
