Tinubu Claims Dominant Victory in Gombe APC Primaries
President Bola Tinubu secured 450,517 votes in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Gombe State, decisively outperforming his opponent, Stanley Osifo, who received no votes.
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya emphasized that the results reflect the steadfast support for Tinubu and the APC as the nation gears up for the 2027 general elections.
As the APC Presidential Primary Collation Officer and Coordinator for Tinubu in Gombe State, Governor Yahaya announced the results after compiling votes from all 11 local government areas within the state.
Speaking at the APC Collation Center, Yahaya noted that the primary election took place in a peaceful and transparent manner, underscoring the confidence that party members have in the APC government.
In his capacity as the designated collator for the primaries, Yahaya stated, “In total, Gombe State has 550,516 registered APC members. After careful collation of votes from all local governments, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received an impressive 450,517 votes, while Mr. Stanley Osifo recorded zero.”
The governor highlighted that the overwhelmingly favorable results demonstrate unity and commitment among APC members in Gombe State towards sustaining Tinubu’s administration into the future. He suggested that the substantial support seen during the primaries indicates widespread acceptance of Tinubu’s leadership and development strategies nationwide.
Yahaya, expressing gratitude, commended the party officials, election personnel, security agencies, and media representatives for ensuring a smooth electoral process throughout the state.
APC Leaders Reinforce Commitment to 2027 Elections
Gombe State APC Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Ndusu, called the primary exercise historic and a crucial step in preparing the party for the upcoming 2027 elections. He affirmed that the peaceful execution of the primaries demonstrated the unity of the APC under Governor Yahaya’s leadership.
Ndusu voiced confidence that the demonstrated support for President Tinubu from party members in the state would translate into success in the 2027 elections. He congratulated the candidates who triumphed in the primaries and encouraged those who were unsuccessful to unite in support of the party’s broader objectives as the general election approaches.
The entire verification process was closely monitored by representatives from the Independent National Electoral Commission, led by Resident Election Commissioner Umar Ghaziram, along with heads of security agencies, election observers, and media members.
