Finale of Kiekie Unscripted Experience Highlights Diverse Talent
The inaugural season of the variety show “Kiekie Unscripted Experience” (KUE) concluded spectacularly as Benjamin Omosivie, popularly known as Benrifs, emerged victorious among 17 competing music artists. His reward for the triumph was a brand new Mikano 2025 SUV, the Changan CS15.
The path to the finale kicked off in 2024 with auditions that attracted thousands of Nigerian creatives—from singers and actors to spoken word poets and hobbyist chefs. The show officially debuted in 2025, featuring extravagant celebrity-themed costumes that set the stage for an exceptional showcase of talent.
Held at Mikano Cube 65 on Victoria Island, the finale was divided into two engaging segments. The Big Stage competition pitted spoken word poets and actors against each other for a chance to win £2.5 million, while the Performance Challenge focused on 17 singers competing for the coveted SUV.
Hosted by the comedic duo of Otororin Peter, known as Kenny Black, and KUE creator Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, affectionately known as Kiki, the finale required guest judges from industry experts and influencers to vote for the standout talent of the evening.
The competition featured memorable moments, particularly in the Big Stage Challenge, where spoken word poets Ayomi Wright and Baba Soja captivated the audience. Despite facing technical difficulties, the two contestants ended their initial performances in a tie. In a nail-biting rematch, Wright secured victory by just four points, making it one of the closest calls of the season.
The Performance Challenge showcased a vibrant array of musical genres, including Afrobeats, rap, RnB, hip-hop, and gospel. Performers like Eniola delivered a powerful rendition of “Proud Mary,” paying tribute to the late Tina Turner, while Grace’s gospel performance created a deeply worshipful atmosphere. Each artist left an indelible mark on the audience, showcasing their unique styles and influences.
Ultimately, Benrifs and King Steve emerged as the top two performers, delivering compelling vocal performances that distinguished them with their technical skills and stage presence. King Steve took home the title of first runner-up, receiving £2.5 million for his efforts.
In a previously aired segment highlighting culinary talent, the top four chefs—Chef Bums, Chef Moyo, Chef Grow, and Chef Damien—each received a cash prize of ₦500,000, celebrating their contributions to the culinary competition.
The finale captured the warmth of a family gathering, with Kiki’s parents and daughter present to support her. Prominent figures from the Nigerian entertainment scene also attended, including IK Osaki-Oduwa, Bobi Ugboma, Stan Nze, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Hilda Bati, Eniola Badmusu, and Osasu Ighodalo.
