According to Acting President Delcy Rodriguez, over 20 aftershocks have been recorded in the wake of the initial tremors. She declared a state of emergency during a televised address and confirmed the closure of Caracas’ airport due to severe damage, alongside the suspension of all schools and non-essential services.
In response, President Donald Trump offered U.S. support, directing government agencies to act swiftly. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that search and rescue teams, along with medical resources and humanitarian assistance, would be immediately deployed to Venezuela.
This quake is one of the most powerful to strike Venezuela in more than a century. The extent of the destruction underscores the region’s vulnerability to seismic events and raises concerns about potential long-term recovery challenges.
Students Compensated for Promoting AI on Campus
Major AI companies, including Anthropic, Microsoft, and Perplexity, are engaging campus ambassadors at thousands of universities globally to promote AI tools among students. The poll featured open-ended responses, with many participants emphasizing events related to the expansion of rights, including the 13th and 19th Amendments. Some responses highlighted tangible developments witnessed in recent years, such as increased access to education, illustrating the evolving nature of achievement in American society.

In the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, the Justice Department has released files where the phrase “Call Leon Black” appears over 300 times. Research from the Campaign for Accountability indicates that hospitals under private equity management reap an additional $669 in profit per patient compared to other ownership models, while failing to achieve any substantial reduction in operating costs.
