A thrilling day of racing is set for Monday, featuring exciting flat action from Ffos Las and Windsor, all broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing.
Windsor at 7:00 PM – Legal Envoy Seeks Consecutive Victories
Eleven horses will line up for the six-furlong Fitzdare Sprint Series Handicap at Windsor Racecourse, where Regal Envoy, expertly ridden by Oisin Murphy, aims for her fourth consecutive victory. The seven-year-old mare recently triumphed in a five-furlong race at this venue just three weeks ago, cementing her status as a favorite in her first outing of the year.
Another strong contender in this race is Tom Clover’s Invictus Gold, who finished just behind Sondad at Epsom 23 days ago. The horse is expected to perform well on firmer ground this time. Additionally, King of Light boasts a strong recent form, including a victory at Haydock and a second-place finish at Goodwood in his last two races. This will mark Stuart Williams’ gelding’s return to six furlongs for the first time since September of the previous year.
Trainers Richard Hannon and Shaun Levy have teamed up with Fandom, who last competed in the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot. Other notable participants include Michael Appleby’s Cole Angel and David Simcock’s Ryedale Frosty, both of whom could make their mark in this competitive field.
Ffos Las at 3:22 PM – Rogue Enforcer and Zighy to Feature
At Ffos Las, five runners will contest the Diplomat Hotel Handicap, where listed winner Rogue Enforcer looks to score his first win with new connections. The five-year-old colt, who was gelded after running in a recent Italian Listed event, has now moved to Archie Watson’s stable in hopes of rejuvenating his form following a disappointing last appearance.
The return of Billy Loughnane to the saddle is likely to enhance the three-year-old’s chances. Competing alongside him is George Boukey, who takes the reins of Ziggy, aiming for his third win in five races. This will mark Ziggy’s first encounter with a stallion.
Always Glamorous, ridden by Gina Mangan, nearly clinched a win against a robust field at Ascot and showed promise in her season debut. However, she did not meet expectations in her last race while wearing cheekpieces. With those removed today, the five-year-old aims for her first win in over a year. Completing the lineup are Thomas Faulkner’s El Buffalo and the comic strips from Simon and Ed Crisford.
Windsor at 8:00 PM – Taste of Glory and Bella’s Path in Contest
The eight competitors will take on the “Download The Fitzdares App Now” handicap, covering a mile and a quarter at Windsor, where Taste of Glory has notably dropped in class. The Andrew Balding colt, who placed 10th in his last Derby appearance, is eager to make a comeback in this handicap event, with Murphy back in the saddle.
Vera’s Pass is another horse to watch, hoping to improve on his record after a solid debut victory. Moonjid is also in pursuit of consecutive wins following a successful outing at Yarmouth 11 days ago. Although upgraded three pounds for that victory, the gelding may find an edge with Conor Whiteley stepping in as jockey.
Additional contenders worth noting include Seagolazo, Twisting Physics, and Londoner, each of whom has the potential to surprise in this intriguing race.
Additional Highlights
In the 4:22 PM race at Ffos Las, Gray Soul and Orchard will face off again. At 6:30 PM in Windsor, Captaincy, who placed third behind Albany heroine Libertango in her last outing, aims for her first victory in her second attempt. In the 7:30 PM slot at Windsor, Neptune Legends will strive for a hat-trick with Rossa Ryan aboard, in partnership with trainer Tony Carroll.
