Rah Advocates for Southern Kaduna’s Turn in Governance
Senator Danjuma Rah, a Democratic Congress (NDC) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 Kaduna State elections, has asserted that it is time for the Southern Kaduna senatorial district to elect its next governor. He addressed this at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, alongside Chief Etugo Ndubuisi Ogah, the NDC candidate for Abia State. Both candidates outlined their ambitious agendas, which prioritize equity, security, industrialization, job creation, and responsible governance.
Ogah Pledges Economic Transformation in Abia
In his address, Ogah emphasized his commitment to reducing governance costs and industrializing Abia through effective financial management. He asserted that a focus on good governance and judicious allocation of public resources would lead to substantial improvements in the lives of citizens.
Political Marginalization as a Key Focus for Rah
Rah, who represented Kaduna South in the 9th National Assembly, stated that the governorship in Kaduna State has historically rotated between Kaduna North and Central, which has led to the political marginalization of the South. He is advocating for equity in political representation, expressing a strong desire to prioritize the needs of his constituency.
Restoring Security and Trust Among Communities
Addressing the escalating issue of insecurity in Kaduna, Rah vowed to prioritize restoring peace and security should he be elected. He highlighted the importance of building trust among the diverse religious communities in the state, underlining that peaceful coexistence is crucial for sustainable development.
A Commitment to Inclusivity and Community Support
Rah articulated a vision for an inclusive government that offers equal opportunities for all residents, regardless of their background. He reiterated that his desire to run for governor is driven by a collective aspiration from the people of Southern Kaduna, not merely personal ambition.
Ogah’s Vision for Job Creation through Industrialization
Meanwhile, in Abia State, Ogah is aiming to transform the local economy through industrialization and enhanced infrastructure. He outlined a clear strategy for addressing unemployment, particularly among youths, by establishing industries that would create jobs and drive economic growth. He emphasized that adequate funding will be secured through improved internal revenue systems.
Reducing Governance Costs While Promoting Accountability
Ogah also acknowledged the high costs associated with governance in Abia, calling for urgent reforms to make it more efficient. He pledged to enhance accountability in public resource management as a means to combat corruption. His message to the people of Abia was one of hope, assuring them that an era of responsible governance is within reach.
