The United Nations World Council on Diplomacy (UN-WCD) is a prominent 34-member non-governmental organization recognized by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). During a recent meeting in Port Harcourt, members of the organization’s regional chapter underscored the importance of cultivating selflessness, sacrifice, and harmony to realize regional development objectives. This cultural shift is vital for the organization to achieve its global vision.
Diplomats’ Role in Society Highlighted
Larry Goodwill Ajiola, the Director of Policy and Diplomacy for the South-South and South-East regions, articulated the responsibility that diplomats have as peace advocates. He emphasized that their engagement as community stakeholders is essential in shaping societal dynamics.

Ajiola viewed the seminar as a successful platform for enlightening diplomats on their societal roles, noting its positive impact.
