The suspect was located at a community garden in the Spandau district at 6 PM local time. According to police reports, he lunged at members of the Special Police Unit (SEK) with a weapon, prompting them to open fire. Despite efforts by emergency responders to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prior to this incident, the suspect was accused of driving his vehicle into a crowd near the Brandenburg Gate on Saturday night, where he also attacked individuals with a knife. This violent act resulted in the death of one woman and serious injuries to 29 others.

Troy Jackson Nominated as New Democratic Senate Candidate in Maine
At the Maine Democratic Party convention on Saturday, former state Senate President Troy Jackson was elected as the new Senate candidate, stepping into a critical race that is drawing considerable national attention as Election Day approaches.
Hundreds of party delegates gathered in Bangor to choose a replacement following the withdrawal of primary winner Graham Platner, who suspended his campaign amid sexual assault allegations that he has denied. This unexpected shake-up has significantly altered the dynamics of the Senate race in Maine.
Senator Susan Collins, the state’s only Republican in the Senate, is seeking a sixth term after being previously defeated by Donald Trump in 2024. For Democrats, capturing this seat is essential in their quest to regain control of the Senate, which requires a net gain of four seats this fall.
Military Preparedness Addressed on Meet the Press

Meanwhile, Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) expressed uncertainty regarding his potential vote on additional funding for military efforts, emphasizing the need for competent leadership to establish effective military and budget strategies to protect the country.
Wildfires Force Mass Evacuations in France and Spain
