Support for the Dignity Act Gains Momentum in Congress
Washington, DC — The Problem Solvers Caucus has officially endorsed the Dignity Act (HR 4393), marking a significant advancement for this legislative proposal and underscoring its growing bipartisan support within Congress.
This approval enhances the bill’s standing, attracting new backing and drawing attention to a viable framework for immigration reform at a time when this issue continues to linger unresolved. The Dignity Act offers a promising pathway forward.
Representative Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) emphasized the value of this bipartisan support, noting, “Real solutions are built by bringing people together and working across the aisle.” She described the backing from the Problem Solvers Caucus as a pivotal development that showcases a shared commitment to effective legislation. According to Rep. Salazar, the Dignity Act is the most credible approach to addressing the immigration crisis, aimed at securing borders, restoring accountability, prioritizing American workers, and revitalizing the economy. “The American people want results, and we are moving toward achieving them,” she stated.
Representative Hillary Scholten spoke to the imperative of substantial reform, declaring, “It is past time for Congress to bring substantive reform to our broken immigration system. This support illustrates bipartisan agreement that the status quo is unacceptable.” She underscored that the Dignity Act is a comprehensive solution, restoring order at borders and reforming the faulty asylum system while providing a responsible path to justice for long-term residents. “This legislation addresses the workforce challenges that I encounter from West Michigan employers daily,” she added, expressing gratitude for the ongoing support.
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Co-Chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, highlighted the dual identity of America as both a nation of laws and immigrants. “For too long, Washington has turned a broken system into a political weapon,” he argued. Fitzpatrick emphasized that the Dignity Act embodies a balanced approach, advocating for common-sense solutions over amnesty. “It’s time for Congress to collaborate and produce results that embody common sense, compassion, and the rule of law.”
Echoing these sentiments, Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-03), another co-chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, remarked on the need for tangible solutions. He criticized the misuse of immigration as a political tool and reiterated his commitment to bipartisan legislation that secures borders, fixes the asylum system, and enables long-term residents to contribute to society legally. “Americans are fed up with excuses; they want their leaders to take decisive actions,” he stated.
The Problem Solvers Caucus serves as a key bipartisan entity focused on advancing legislation capable of passing through Congress with dual-party support. Their endorsement of the Dignity Act signifies that it meets their rigorous standards and is poised for progress.
In recent months, the Dignity Act has garnered heightened attention from policymakers, business leaders, and community advocates who are eager for practical immigration solutions. With increasing backing, the bill is expected to play a critical role in shaping the dialogue around immigration reform.
National Support for the Dignity Act Expands
Support for the Dignity Act continues to gain traction across the country. Currently, 40 members of Congress and over 95 national organizations endorse this initiative, reflecting a broad consensus on the urgency and feasibility of meaningful immigration reform.
Building on this momentum, Rep. Salazar, alongside bipartisan congressional members, has formed a historic coalition known as the Dignity Union. This alliance includes employers, farmers, faith leaders, educators, veterans, and advocates committed to promoting the Dignity Act as the only genuine bipartisan solution for America’s immigration system and transforming public support into legislative action.
The Dignity Act is the only comprehensive legislation currently on the table that seeks to modernize the immigration system, stabilize the workforce, address labor shortages, and provide practical solutions for those who have significantly contributed to American communities and the economy.
The growing list of supporting organizations includes diverse groups such as the American Business Immigration Council, the Business Roundtable, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, highlighting broad-based cross-sector support for this initiative.
