This initiative will enhance connectivity from the capital, Lomé, to inland areas and neighboring countries, ultimately reducing transport costs and improving road safety. ADFD has allocated approximately AED 37 million to this project.
In Madagascar, ADFD is overseeing the construction of 117 kilometers of dual-lane roads, along with the development of seven new bridges. With an 80% completion rate, this project aims to enhance connectivity in rural regions, optimize traffic flow, and lower transportation costs, while facilitating access to essential services and supporting vital sectors like agriculture and tourism. The project has received funding through concessional loans exceeding AED 110 million.
Progress on the Minna-Bida Road Project in Nigeria
In Nigeria, the Fund is actively managing the Minna-Bida road project in Niger State, which represents the country’s first significant development initiative, funded at AED 165 million. The 82-kilometer road, currently 45% complete, is anticipated to halve travel time between Minna and Bida and cut vehicle operating costs by 31%.
