The party has reaffirmed its support for Gbenga Olawepo Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The unveiling took place during a ceremony in Lagos, where certificates of return were presented to candidates aspiring for various elective roles, including governorship, senatorial seats, the House of Representatives, and positions within the Lagos State House of Assembly.

During the event, Mr. Dele Oladeji, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, emphasized that the presentation of certificates officially confirms the party’s candidates and signals the commencement of the election campaign. As the party’s candidate for the Lagos West Senatorial District, he characterized the event as a crucial step in providing viable political alternatives for the people of Lagos.

Mr. Solomon Oladimeji Wahab, the candidate for the Lagos Central Senatorial District, articulated his motivation for seeking office as a means to elevate governance and ensure that citizens reap the benefits of democracy. He called for heightened government accountability and urged voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to engage actively in the electoral process. Wahab also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct transparent, fair, and credible elections.

Joseph Taiwo Jehoshafat, the Accord Party’s candidate for the House of Representatives in Badagry Federal Constituency, pledged to address infrastructure challenges and youth unemployment if elected. His campaign will focus on attracting federal projects and developmental initiatives to the region.

Blessing Maduka Sunday, the Lagos East senatorial candidate, stressed the need for increased female representation in politics.
