On Saturday, the Regimental Training Center Annex (RTCA) in Bauchi conducted the final physical fitness evaluation for trainees in the Special Forces Course 13/2026. This essential phase of the selection process is designed to identify candidates capable of executing some of the military’s most demanding missions.

The assessments included a series of challenging physical and mental tests, aimed at gauging resilience, endurance, discipline, and overall combat readiness. According to the NAF, these attributes are crucial for special forces operations in hostile environments.

Chief of Air Staff Sunday Aneke emphasized that the evolving nature of Nigeria’s security landscape demands a highly trained and mission-ready personnel capable of effectively tackling emerging threats. Squadron Leader Edeama Akpan, Commander of RTCA Bauchi, oversaw the final evaluation. He noted that the training serves as a vital benchmark for determining the trainees’ suitability for special forces duties.
