Kano State Governor Recognized for Transparency and Accountability
Malam Abdulmalik Suleiman, a public relations analyst, has described Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as a quiet achiever, asserting that his record in good governance, transparency, and accountability remains unmatched, despite attempts at propaganda to undermine it.
Suleiman made these remarks in Abuja during an analysis of his inspection tour of Kano State, which assessed service delivery and the impact of government projects across 44 municipalities.
He claimed that Yusuf’s administration has established a new benchmark in governance that is challenging for other states to replicate. “I question whether any other state can achieve what Kano State has under Governor Abba Kabir in terms of transparency and accountability,” he stated.
According to Suleiman, Governor Yusuf has been a silent achiever, accomplishing significant feats without drawing excessive attention. His administration’s strong commitment to due process and effective project oversight has earned him international recognition.
Suleiman emphasized that no amount of negative propaganda could diminish Governor Yusuf’s popularity in Kano, where residents are acutely aware of the positive changes in governance. He accused desperate opposition members of resorting to threats in an effort to discredit the governor, claiming they are attempting to circulate false information regarding ongoing projects.
Despite this political climate, Suleiman pointed out that citizens with legitimate grievances have proper channels to voice their concerns. “If someone has a complaint about unfinished business, there are appropriate avenues to pursue information, rather than resorting to baseless threats,” he asserted.
The analyst highlighted that the administration’s commitment to transparency in budgeting, project monitoring, and public engagement has significantly strengthened public trust in the government. “The governor’s dedication to good governance is evident throughout Kano, with improvements in schools, hospitals, and roads, as well as successful empowerment programs,” he remarked.
Suleiman urged Governor Yusuf to maintain focus and disregard distractions from political opponents, citing a local proverb: “If you choose to fight the pigs, the pigs will be happy, but the pigs will be dirty.” He noted that the growing popularity of the APC-led government in Kano is directly linked to its tangible achievements.
In conclusion, Suleiman called for political figures to engage in issue-based politics and urged the citizens of Kano to continue supporting the government for the realization of further developmental projects.
