Journalist and media strategist Samuel Idoko has won the nomination as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ogugu State constituency in the upcoming 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly elections. If elected, Idoko has pledged to prioritize people-centered legislation and responsible representation.
Idoko, currently serving as the Media Director for Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan, has officially received his nomination form and PDP return certificate from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This development confirms his position as the party’s designated candidate for the constituency.
This unopposed nomination is seen by party officials as a strong endorsement of Idoko’s extensive experience in media, legislative communications, and grassroots engagement. Upon receiving his nomination documents, he expressed gratitude and framed his selection as a commitment to higher service, thanking the PDP leadership, delegates, party members, and the residents of the Ogugu State constituency for their trust.
Idoko stated, “To the glory of Almighty God, I have received the PDP return certificate and INEC nomination form as the sole candidate of the great political party in Ogugu State constituency for the 2027 Kogi State House of Assembly elections. I am deeply humbled by this honor and grateful for the confidence placed in me.” He emphasized that his ambitions stem from a genuine desire to enhance the welfare of the community rather than personal gain.
In his vision for the constituency, Idoko reiterated that this mandate is not solely about him but reflects the aspirations of the people. He remains committed to conducting an issue-based campaign focused on the needs, welfare, and development of all communities within Ogugu State.
PDP candidates have outlined their priorities, vowing to introduce legislation aimed at improving infrastructure, expanding access to quality education and healthcare, creating economic opportunities for youth and women, and attracting sustainable development projects to their regions. Idoko remarked, “If elected to the Kogi State House of Assembly, I will be a strong voice for the people, pledging to sponsor impactful legislation and ensure the interests of the Ogugu State constituency are effectively represented.”
In a call for unity, Idoko urged party members and residents to come together in preparation for the 2027 elections, stressing that collective effort is essential for victory. “I urge all our great party members and all the good sons and daughters of Ogugu to remain united. Together we can build a constituency where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive. This is the beginning of a journey towards purposeful and responsible representation,” he asserted.
Hailing from the Kogi East Senatorial District, Mr. Idoko has cultivated a career in journalism, media strategy, and public communication, earning recognition for his advocacy efforts focused on youth empowerment, community development, and good governance.
