HBM Nigeria Plc Embarks on New Era of Growth
A significant transformation is underway for Lafarge Africa Plc, now rebranded as HBM Nigeria Plc. This change symbolizes an essential milestone in the company’s journey and aligns with its new shareholder structure.
As detailed in a press release from the company’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Jinikangwa Frank-Durgbor, the rebranding reflects HBM Nigeria Plc’s evolution into a prominent provider of architectural solutions in Nigeria, merging deep local roots with enhanced global industry connections.
The company has assured that this name change will not affect its operations, employees, customers, or shareholders, nor its commitment to driving Nigeria’s economic growth and infrastructure development. This statement reinforces HBM’s pledge to continue delivering quality services and products.
Group Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Lol Alade Akinyemi, expressed that this new identity spells a promising phase for the company, driven by principles of operational excellence, sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation. He emphasized that while the company’s branding is evolving, its steadfast commitment to Nigeria remains unchanged.
Alade Akinyemi stated, “HBM Nigeria Plc signifies an exciting chapter in our journey as a leading building solutions provider. Our focus will remain on delivering high-quality cement, concrete, and innovative building solutions that stimulate infrastructure development, housing growth, and industrialization.” He also outlined that the transition to HBM Nigeria Plc would occur through a structured phased process across national operations.
Chairman of HBM Nigeria Limited, Gbenga Oyebode, highlighted that the transition aims to establish a foundation for lasting success while honoring the values that have defined the company throughout its history. He voiced gratitude toward shareholders, the leadership team, and employees for their ongoing dedication during this pivotal time.
Additionally, the Minister of Works, David Umahi, praised HBM Nigeria for its pivotal role in underpinning Nigeria’s infrastructure development through remarkable projects nationwide. He reaffirmed the company’s alignment with the federal government’s infrastructure policy, acknowledging their rigorous standards and reliable products.
The unveiling ceremony drew notable dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Mr. Rt. Peter Odei MP, and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Olufemi Daramola. The event also attracted government officials, traditional leaders from various regions, and members of the company’s board and executive committee, reflecting the broad support for HBM’s new identity.
