Nigerian Air Force Enhances Search Operations for Abducted Students and Teachers
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has ramped up efforts to secure the release of abducted students and teachers in the Oriile Local Government Area of Oyo State. As part of an ongoing search and rescue operation, the NAF has deployed aerial surveillance units to bolster intelligence gathering and improve situational awareness in the area.
This surveillance initiative reflects the growing urgency surrounding the abduction, underscoring the commitment of both security agencies and the Oyo State government to ensure a prompt and safe resolution for the victims.
Air Chief Marshal Ehimen Ejodame, the Director General of Public Relations and Information, confirmed in a statement that the NAF continues to support the operation by providing aerial surveillance for the recovery of the abducted individuals from the Yawota and Ahoro-Esinere communities within Oriile.
During a recent courtesy visit by Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, it was reported that the aerial platform was dispatched immediately following the abduction incident. This swift action has facilitated the collection of critical intelligence that enhances the efforts to locate and rescue the abducted individuals.
Governor Makinde urged local residents to remain patient and cooperative as security forces mobilize their resources to navigate the complexities of this operation. He assured citizens that every necessary measure is being taken to achieve a successful outcome.
Praising the NAF for its rapid response and ongoing support, Makinde highlighted that while the state’s newly acquired air assets are still being outfitted at the NAF base in Lagos, the surveillance support is crucial. He elaborated on the collaboration with the NAF aimed at ensuring maintenance support, engineering expertise, and pilot training for these new assets.
Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sule, representing the Chief of Air Staff, emphasized the NAF’s solidarity with Oyo State and its commitment to facilitating the safe return of the abductees. He also acknowledged the state’s ongoing support for various NAF projects and infrastructure development efforts.
The NAF reiterated its pledge to work collaboratively with other security agencies and stakeholders to safeguard lives and property, further addressing the pressing security challenges faced across the nation.
