New Leadership Elected for Nigeria’s Defense Industries Association
In light of ongoing security challenges and increasing calls for Nigeria to enhance its domestic military manufacturing capabilities, the Defense Industries Association of Nigeria (DIAN) has announced the election of a new executive committee. This new leadership aims to bolster indigenous defense manufacturing, explore technological partnerships, and accelerate the growth of the country’s defense industrial sector.

Meet the Newly Elected Executive Committee
Major General BI Araya of the Defense Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) will chair the newly formed committee. Key members include Mr. Alhaji Saifullahi Babangida from Vinicius Global Link Ltd. as Vice Chairman, Mr. Ogonna Okonkwo of DICON-SMARTFIT Ltd. as General Secretary, and Mr. Otun of Filote Nigeria Limited as Treasurer. Additional members include Mr. Ba Adedun Henry Bademosi, Dr. Chukus Ekwueme of UNICCON Group as Finance Secretary, Mr. Sunday Akhibe from White Hat Consults Ltd. as Welfare Secretary, and Mr. Bem Ibrahim Garba also serving as Welfare Secretary. DICON Gray Insignia Nigeria Ltd. will act as Public Relations Secretary, while Mr. Charles Ibanga of X-Shield Solutions Company Limited takes on the role of Assistant Financial Secretary.

In a statement signed by General Secretary Ogonna Okonkwo, the association emphasized that the new leadership will guide Nigeria’s foremost organization representing firms in the defense, security, aerospace, and related industries.
