Governor Otti’s Vision for Hotel Expansion
Governor Alex Otti has announced plans to enhance the state’s appeal by developing essential facilities, including the Enyimba Radisson Blu Hotel in Aba and a new five-star hotel in Umuahia. These initiatives are part of a strategic effort to make Abia the preferred venue for conferences.
Welcoming the Nigerian Association of Property Surveyors and Valuers
Otti made these remarks during an official reception at the Government House in Umuahia, where he welcomed members of the Nigerian Association of Property Surveyors and Valuers. The association is in the state for its 2026 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM), set to take place at the International Conference Center in Ogulbe Layout, Umuahia.

The governor expressed his readiness to collaborate with the members of the Nigerian Institute of Property Surveyors and Valuers, emphasizing a shared vision for the national development of Nigeria. Mr. Victor Alonge, Chairman of the Association of Real Estate Surveyors and Valuers of Nigeria, highlighted the significance of this year’s conference, which focuses on “Corridors, Connectivity and Capital: Rethinking Real Estate Development in Line with New Hopes for Infrastructure Investment.” He expressed enthusiasm for hosting the conference in Abia for the first time under Governor Otti’s administration. Alonge commended the governor for his support, acknowledging the positive impact of collaboration between the institution and the state government in advancing policy development, land management, and housing initiatives. He noted that Otti’s commitment to reform has opened Abia to increased local and foreign investment, which has bolstered the state’s economy.
