Notably, most of the top 15 enterprises are situated within the retail, banking, mining, and industrial sectors, confirming South Africa’s status as the continent’s foremost hub for formal employment in business.

A thorough examination of the rankings reveals that South Africa is home to 22 of the 30 largest employers, accounting for an impressive 73 percent of Africa’s top job providers. Togo, Morocco, and Kenya each contribute one company to the list, tying for third place. Togo is represented by Ecobank, Morocco boasts Maroc Telecom, and Kenya’s Safaricom rounds out this group.
