Senator Solomon Adeola Commits to Egbaland Development in Ogun State
Senator Solomon Adeola, widely recognized as Yai, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, has pledged to prioritize the holistic development of Egbaland, particularly in Abeokuta, should he be elected as governor.
Infrastructure Initiatives for Economic Advancement
In his campaign address on Saturday during a visit to the palace of Oba Adedun Aremu Gbadebo, the supreme ruler of Egbaland, Adeola emphasized his intention to implement infrastructure projects aimed at boosting socio-economic development across the Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Formal Introduction to Traditional Leadership
During this ceremonial visit, Adeola was introduced to the Oba by his maternal relatives from Kemta Odusor township in Abeokuta. Although representing Ogun West in the National Assembly, he highlighted his commitment to advancing several development initiatives within the six local government areas of Ogun Central.
Strengthening Local Ties
Adeola explained that the visit, coordinated by Chief Abayomi Rotimi, the Oluwo of Kemta, served to formally announce his status as the APC governorship candidate for the upcoming elections. He expressed pride in his close ties to Egbaland, underscoring his connection through maternal lineage that spans over two decades.
Building an Inclusive Governance Model
In his remarks, Adeola expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler, acknowledging his support and blessings, which were significant in his journey toward candidacy. He reassured the people of Egbaland that if elected, his administration would cultivate an inclusive environment that fosters governance pride.
Commitment to Community Projects
Adeola articulated his deep-rooted connection to Egbaland, stating, “Abeokuta is my maternal hometown, and I hold this town very dear to me.” He outlined his past accomplishments as a senator, which include championing projects related to road construction, solar-powered streetlights, water supply, educational scholarships, and the establishment of health facilities, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life in Ogun Central.
Empowerment and Future Initiatives
The senator also mentioned that work has commenced on additional constituency projects he has advocated for across Ogun Central. Following his speech, Mr. Arake offered prayers for Adeola, wishing him success in his political aspirations. Earlier in the day, Adeola was warmly welcomed by residents of Kemta County at a civic reception held at Adire Market, Itoku, Abeokuta, where he reiterated his commitment to promoting socio-economic growth and enhancing youth and women empowerment programs if he secures the governorship.
