Yoco Integrates with Stub to Enhance Financial Management for South African Businesses
Yoco, the payments and commerce platform used by over 200,000 independent South African businesses, has announced a direct integration with Stub, a local online accounting solution. This collaboration connects Yoco’s sales data with Stub’s accounting platform to automate reconciliation processes, providing independent businesses with real-time insights into their financial health.
This partnership brings together two sets of innovative South African entrepreneurs who share a common mission: to equip independent traders, shopkeepers, and businesses with robust yet affordable financial tools that were previously inaccessible. Through this collaboration, Yoco and Stub are delivering an integrated front-to-back office solution that places vital financial insights directly into the hands of business owners.
The integration allows sales and payment data to flow securely from Yoco to Stub automatically at the moment of each transaction. Stub then categorizes each transaction, pairs payments with corresponding invoice numbers, and tags sales with location data. This means independent business owners no longer need to manually export files, capture data, or reconcile transactions across various systems. They can also gain insights into which locations and devices yield the best performance.
Independent business operators can connect via either platform by integrating Stub through the Yoco app or linking directly to Yoco from Stub. This integration offers immediate visibility into income, expenses, and cash flow, all updated in real time. The outcome is a significant reduction in manual processing time, expedited reconciliations, improved financial records, and enhanced decision-making capabilities.
According to Tayla Dandridge, co-founder and CEO of Stub, the integration of both platforms bridges the gap between business operations and bookkeeping. She expressed excitement about enhancing operational efficiency for entrepreneurs by eliminating fragmented systems and manual data entry.
Dandridge emphasized, “We are building an ecosystem of tools tailored to South African entrepreneurs, delivering capabilities they have long sought. This partnership showcases how local solutions can integrate seamlessly to enhance customer experiences.”
This integration profoundly impacts business owners, whether it’s a coffee shop operating three outlets, a market trader utilizing multiple devices, or a merchant managing finances through a personal bank account. For busy entrepreneurs, transitioning from disorganized paperwork to real-time transaction updates opens opportunities for growth and reduces administrative burdens.
Eugene Coetzee, Yoco’s VP of Engineering, shared his enthusiasm about combining the strengths of two South African firms dedicated to supporting local independent businesses. He highlighted that adding accounting functionality to Stub marks a significant expansion of Yoco’s services beyond payments, reinforcing its status as the preferred smart commerce platform for independent enterprises.
